Matthew Lillard is doing so much for Scream by just opening up discussion about his character. Love it! It gives the fans something to talk about between movies and puts ideas in our heads. Makes Scream 6 so exciting. All my true Scream friends who went to see Scream 5 stayed to the very end when the lights came on hoping for end credit scene of Stu. This is making the franchise fun.

Scream 6: Even These Days Ya STILL Gotta Have A Sequel

Back when the original Scream hit, sitting there with my friend, I noticed just after Sidney dropped that old analog tv on his head, just before the camera cuts away when she runs past out of frame (point of view looking down at him as the electricity stops), I thought I had noticed just before that cutaway Stu’s stomach moved as if still breathing. I pointed it out to my friend.

From what I’ve learned about Scream 3, originally the story involved a Stab fan club of students at Woodsboro High School who were also obsessed with the Ghostface murders, Maureen Prescott, and Sidney. The idea was that Stu was going to be revealed as alive in prison, but horribly scarred from that tv drop, tutoring a new generation of killers-that Stab fan club. The idea, however, was dropped due to the Columbine shootings in Littleton, Colorado, resulting in the story for Scream 3 that we got.

Now here’s an aside that I’ve noticed elsewhere and here in this video. People keep saying 5 is the start of a new trilogy. Uhhh, 4 comes after 3 so wouldn’t 4 be the start of the new trilogy and 5 the 2nd, making the upcoming 6th film and the 3rd of the aforementioned 2nd trilogy? All of that said, IF we see Stu’s return, I’m thinking it’d be in 6.

Something I and others have noticed about a certain death in 5 of a legacy character, the killer who supposedly offed said legacy character was actually much taller than the person who took credit for that kill. Could that have been Stu as an unrevealed 3rd killer who stands revealed as the overall mastermind behind the current trilogy?

As a writer, I can see that train of thought in piecing together this current trilogy. They could be taking plot elements from that original Scream 3 story and spreading it out over the course of this current trilogy. Also note how in 4 and 5 the fan club/fandom idea has been spread throughout the two films-another plot element from that original Scream 3 script.

I think we would all love it if Mathew Lillard came back. He's pretty much in all of the movies in some form. I personally think Stu was the mastermind behind the whole thing in Scream 5. It would make the movie better if he's the one who got Dewey.

I think stus return in 7 would make most sense maybe behind the scenes in 6 as he’s such an iconic character/villain due to that I feel his return would bring this chapter to a close perfectly..
