Graphtec CE7000-60 Bunching Tracking issue work around

This is the work around that I currently use to continue working without bunching or tracking issues.

I'm using a total thickness of 12 Starbucks gift cards and stuffed 2 strips per spring gap and clamped them with a binder clip.

I started with 1 and worked my way up to 14 gift cards and found the thickness of 12 gift cards works for me and the weight of the medium sized binder clip.

I cut up 2 starbucks gift cards into 0.5 inch strips and started placing them in the spring gaps. Also using 2 strips per gap works better for some reason vs 1 strip per gap.

I also have the same issue especially with thicker medias, but I found a ghetto work around that seemed to work for me. I just stacked some boxes in front of my graphtec to create a sort of flat bed for the media and the bunching was gone.

I've got exactly the same problem. Ordered the CE7000-60 earlier this year and had the same issue from the beginning. After contacting my local dealer, the replaced the cutter by a new one, which had the same problem. I've now had a long discussion with our german Graphtec support so far. They send me new pinch roles, which made the problem a bit better, but it's still occuring.
Some days ago, they got new information from the manufacturer regarding to this problem. They will now send me some kind of an additional material guide, that I should mount on the backside of the machine, which should reliable fix it. I'm looking forward to get and test it.

They told me that 2-3% of the total shipped machines have got this problem. I'm a bit wondering why an additional part should solve this problem. At this amount of affected devices, they should replace them, because it's a defect ...

I'll keep you updated.

After watching this, I copied the idea by placing pennies in the springs. Both springs. 6 pennies in each spring seems to have helped tremendously. I would like to see the "fix of the plastic strip". I assume I can replicate that as well, Anything anyone has learned lately would be great to hear.

Same problem here, can’t cut longer than 20” without bunching. Thank you for sharing your work around on this, gunna try, hopefully it will work on mine.

Our tech from seller immediately said it was spring pressure and to adjust it. Machine has no adjustment. I had to send him pics to prove it. Said he never saw a machine without adjustment.

Any updates on this workaround? Is it still holding up? Have you been able to try it with thicker materials with the same result?

I commend you on your work around. It didn't work for me. I also got the manufacturer "fix" of the plastic strip. Slight improvement on my vinyl but 8.5 mil mask was terrible didn't work at all. Have you tried your trick with thicker material?
