Really appreciate the way Scotty gets on with the information. Can't stand those videos that tale 10 minutes to pass on 2 minutes worth of information. He talks fast, knows what he wants to say and gives you most every thing you need to know without a bunch of garble you haven't got time for. Better still, he manages to weave in a bit of humor without gumming up the works.

Great video Scotty!

Just a tip for others:
Be careful what kind of "Brake & Cailper Grease" you use. Some types of brake grease will eat/melt the rubber boots that protect the caliper slide pins and cause the caliper to seize. Make sure to use brake grease that's safe on rubber.

I personally use "Sil Glyde : Brake Lubricant", its fantastic for anything & everything brake related and can be found at any auto parts store.

Excellent video, Scotty. I worked in the factory that made brakes for Toyota (Aisin, U.S.A.) for over a decade. I could tell you stories that would curl your hair. The reason you see pin sticking problems with Toyotas so much is because they used to use a lower-viscosity synthetic grease (that was imported at considerable expense due to tariffs) that didn't tolerate heat well. Whenever I do a brake job on a Toyota, the pins always get cleaned and greased.

Thanks - - worked great.  The car repair shop said my caliper pins were sticking and said I should replace both front calipers and pads and something else for $700.  I did this and all good.  Thanks Scotty!

clicking is often brake pad shims that are missing or brake pads slightly too small. So they move a tiny bit when hitting the brakes. It means nothing, BUT check to make sure both top and bottom pads on both sides have the shims on the top and bottom where the pad ears fit in. Often some are missing or fall off.

it often does need a new calliper, but make sure the brake hose on that side isn't collapsing inside, as that does it too

Thanks Scotty, another great video. Your videos are a great reference for me, I have some mechanical ability but little hands on knowledge with car maintenance. Your videos help bridge the gap of know how and experience for me so that my car repair projects are successful.
