Other than work life balance and seniority rest all are exactly same as Japan, in Japan also party bills are split. Here also no one talks about personal life at work and we never get personal phone numbers of colleagues. Difference between Germany and Japan is in Japan work life balance is not a thing, too long hours are required and you are not expected to take any mini breaks as well so that makes long hours even more painful, also senior's say is final and you cannot correct them even if it is going to have a big negative impact. Living and working in Japan for 10+ years.

The talk about German engineering quality - is a deep rooted Myth ... I irreversibly understood it is a Hype as soon as I stated being a customer of German engineering.. industrial or domestic... Period

In India there is a lot of support at home with hired help and family so staying back at work is possible...In Germany you need to leave your office in time to pick up your child from daycare and do all the house work.. All this is taken care of in India...
