I just heard that actually rubbing alcohol causes skin absorption of the resin..salt and soap is recommended or orange soap

Another tip: VINEGAR! Wiping out ur cups immediately after a pour (BEFORE it hardens) is an easier way to clean pour cups instead of all the scraping and scratching. Unfortunately I hate both methods and I use a LOT of cups so I got a gallon of plain vinegar and poured it into a large clean, empty coffee can about 2/3 full. I place it on my supply table by my pour table. After I pour all of my resin (good to the last drop 🙃) I drop my cups into the coffee can with the vinegar and pop the lid back on. When I do clean up, I just wipe my cups out and do a regular wash on them. This has made everything so much easier.

1. PPE
2. Alcohol and/or wipes or paper towels.
3. Warm resin.
4. Level surface. I got one on Amazon and the level in the table I bought didn't equal other level I already had.
5. Mix right. Pay close attention to the instructions on whatever brand you buy.
6. Get a torch or heat gun.

These are the things I've learned. I love watching videos like yours because it's important to share experiences for the best results.

Another tip: Don't leave your resin items in a cold or humid place to cure. It will slow down or even interrupt the curing process. I'm working out of my garage making very small pieces, but it rained one week and completely ruined a set I had cast. It never finished curing and made a mess of my molds that was a nightmare to clean. Most resin cure best at room temperature or a little warmer, so remember: if you're cold, they're cold. Bring them inside.

Thank you so much for stressing the importance of wearing a respirator. I was not when I first started using resin and had some sever allergic reactions. Eyes almost swelling shut, swollen hives and throat issues. Be safe everyone!

Tip 1a - make sure gloves are nitrile. The harmful chemicals will leach through latex.

You can layer the less expensive latex over nitrile gloves to make the nitrile gloves last longer by keeping them clean. Then the latex is what gets messy and replaced while the nitrile blocks the toxic chemicals.

Thank you so much for this!!!! I've JUST started resin work at the age of 59!! I'm a total perfectionist and have to ace something first time 🤦🏻‍♀️. My first resin pour was great because I was super careful! Yesterday I was gung ho and didn't prep properly and had EXACTLY one of the issues you mention, namely, didn't have my glitters and confetti's ready and my resin started curing! Oy vey 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️it was terrible.. I managed to save my castings but couldn't finish my projects and wasted a some... Lesson well learnt!

Also bought a half mask respirator - big mistake! Got my full face yesterday and WHAT a difference! Well worth the extra money spent!

Glad you didn't do permanent damage to your lungs☺️🎉!

Cute cat!

Shoutout for addressing safety equipment and doing it FIRST.
Should be always the first thing people should hear, especially since manufacturers rarely put any advice on their products.

Thank you so much for these tips. A lot of ppl that make these videos, do not stress enough how important it is to take caution and use proper gear when working with resin.

Thank you so much! Very helpful video. Wished I saw this before I started my journey. I am a traditional artist: painting. So when I started resin you can imagine how frustrated I was with how messy it all was😂 I packed all my resin supplies away and thought its not just my thing. After this video I will try again. The tips are great but also you said be patient with ourselves and that hit me so thank you🥰

Thank you for all your tips they are really helpful some of them I have already learned from trial and error and so to me you sharing these things with everyone is so awesome because I wish I new the things I know now when I first started. I only do resin projects to make gifts or home decor pieces but it does take a lot of time and money so messing up or not knowing certain things can cause a lot of frustration. So again thank you for sharing this. By the way i love your cat so beautiful my cat Kleio was my baby and is no longer here finding her was a challenge in itself to find a cat that in a way spoke to me sounds weird but when I was introduced to her I knew she was the one.
