The smart object tip, THANK YOU SO MUCH. Recently cut the adobe cord and smart objects was one thing I was gonna miss. Glad to see Affinity has it in a way.

Hey Olivio, I have another tip for ya.

When doing the geometry functions in photo or designer, you can create a compound instead of a permanent curve by holding down on the alt in windows or option on Mac and selecting what geometry function you want to do.

The result is a compound that will allow you to readjust the created shape by entering the resulting group and moving or resizing the shapes to get the result you want.

You can even change the mode or operation after the fact and even add more shapes and change their modes as well! Give it a shot!

Ich habe bisher immer total umständlich Bilder in verschiedene Formen gebracht! :')
Dank dir weiß ich jetzt, dass es auch mit nur einem Klick funktionieren würde!

I liked the mask visibility and using a vector shape as a mask tips and the combine vector shapes tips. I think the blue and white icons at the top right also will do some of what the geometric menu does with combining shapes. Maybe they are not the same thing. I didn't know how to use the geometric menu like that either. Thanks Olivio!

Olivio, thanks again for a great tutorial. I'm struggling to keep up to be honest :). I particularly liked the first trick with the Mask and I can think of a couple of my own photos that will benefit from the acquired knowledge (ie. the Olivio's effect). Looking forward to the next installment ...

Please never feel “rushed” by the 15 minute YouTube rule. I, for one, subscribed to learn. Those whom feel that videos are not worth their time can always skip ahead, IMHO.

if you move your image into the vector shape (shorter blue horizontal bar) then the vector is preserved when exporting as a pdf.

If you have two windows side by side, you'll be able to watch your changes you are making to embedded object live against background

Select both circles, and holding `Alt` when you `subtract´. Then you can move around with them :-)
