The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) has selected Kansas City as the first U.S. city to become a Core Smart City. This recognition allows Kansas City the unique opportunity to become a global leader in what it means to be a digital city.

"This recognition will highlight our city and our capabilities to a global audience, along with amplifying the Kansas City Living Lab as an innovation platform to drive economic and social benefit," said Herb Sih, Think Big Partners' Managing Partner. "We're putting all of the pieces of Kansas City's Smart City ecosystem together, and we can see the pioneering spirit of citizens that will empower civic engagement to co-design, innovate, shape, build and test new solutions that will help define modern, smart cities."

Think Big Partners is working collaboratively with the City of Kansas City, Mo., KC Digital Drive, University of Missouri-Kansas City and IEEE Kansas City Section on the project that kicked-off in February 2016 with a smart city workshop.
