This Live Version Speaks To Me! System Of A Down's 'Lost In Hollywood' Vocal ANALYSIS!

For two years now, I've been told about this specific performance of "Lost In Hollywood" by System Of A Down, and it does not disappoint. Daron Malakian and Serj Tankian's vocals are extremely impressive, alongside Shavo Odadjian's emotional outpouring (and vocals as well) throughout the song. THIS is the kind of music that moves me.

Join professional opera singer Elizabeth Zharoff, as she listens to SOAD performing "Lost In Hollywood" for the first time.

Shavo was OVERWHELMED by the 300, 000 person crowd in Rio singing at the top of their lungs. Based on interviews he was overcome with that scene and the energy of the crowd. He called it one of the best moments of his career, so it's a positive emotion here.

SOAD- Soldier Side (including the introduction) has a really great melody.

Hi Elizabeth, you should do ‘Radio/Video’ for the next SOAD song 😊

I can't believe more people aren't requesting Radio/Video. The lyrics and the way they are sang on that song are something I can't describe.

Shavo's face full of tears at 26:08! 🥺 I've never watched this live version, but the vocal arrangements of the studio version always gives me goosebumps.

Serj published a duet with his father Khatchadour Tankian where they sing the traditional Armenian Bari Arakeel together. It's on youtube, go check it out! So much emotion in the faces and the voices - it's a joy to watch and listen to. Great harmonies.

@16:39 Serj and Daron voice goes so well together, they do a lot more of harmonies on the Hypnotize/Mesmerize double album. "Soldier Side (long version)" is another great song with both of them singing together. Thank you for the great content Elizabeth!

Elizabeth, the rest of their Rock in Rio performance is so amazing. You can clearly see how much this band loves what they do. Serg is one of the happiest performers I have ever seen. His face SHINES and it's a joy to watch.

You need more "Steal this album" in your life. Mr. Jack or Streamline would be rad.

Elizabeth, wow, what can I say other than that I genuinely LOVE your analysis of SOAD. All of them. SOAD has a special place in my heart. I grew up performing in choir and followed it all the way through college. I was never more musically inclined than that, I can read sheet music but really cant tell you much of anything else haha. In my more rebellious teenage years I stared branching out to various genres of music, and the first time I heard SOAD I knew there was something special. Dare I say I fell in love with their music, but I never could explain why a guy into choral music loved the likes of SOAD. About the best I could say was that their heavier music spoke to my teenage soul, but their ability to mix it with incredible harmony spoke to my passion for music. Anyway, Thank you!!! Love the analysis of one of my favorite bands in a way that I never could explain when I was younger. Please do more!!!! Looking forward to Toxicity, although mesmerize was always my favorite album which you just covered lost in Hollywood here.
