Donald Trump defense attorney Todd Blanche was interrupted during his opening statement by objections from the prosecution that were sustained by the judge and resulted in a side bar at the bench. Rachel Maddow talks with MSNBC legal correspondent Lisa Ruben and former Manhattan prosecutor Catherine Christian about whether Blanche showed his inexperience as a defense attorney or whether he deliberately stepped out of line to plant ideas in the jurors' heads.

Why would there need to be an NDA if it didn't happen? Do they really think we're that stupid? Give me a break.. I'm glad Rachel asked the questions because I was thinking the same.. I've watched Law and Order and they never interrupt 😂SVU doesn't either!!

Trumps lawyers needvto stop calling him President Trump in court as that is an intimidation tactic.
It is supposed to be The Defendant or Donald Trump.

Innocent men do NOT avoid accountability for their actions, nor do they demand immunity or delay proceedings until they can change the laws they are being accused of. Period.

Objections can be sustained but the jury still hears them.

Lawyers debasing themselves and their profession( didn’t think it was possible to think less of them) for a serial criminal.

Calling it a non-disclosure agreement is a silent admission of guilt.
As is Trump not suing her for making false statements.

No one is out to get Trump. Trump’s number is up. He has to answer. Everyone has to answer for what they do, right or wrong. He’s not the first to not like it.

I'd like to thank Trump's lawyers for helping the prosecutor in this case. Help the prosecutor convict trump.

Rachel knows the subject so thoroughly
and has such a quick mind, I hope trumps lawyers aren't getting pointers from her.

Trump's legal team made one PROFOUNDLY FOOLISH mistake, at the core of all of these embarrassing disasters = agreeing to work for Trump

Defence is going to play every trick in the book to plant ideas that are false or unsubstantiated.

after the third or fourth objection is sustained, and the attorneys are called to the bench, why not make the offending attorney explain to the jury what law he just violated?
