Man, I loved this game when it came out. I set up Basch & Balthier as melee fighters, Penelo & Ashe as damage mages, and Fran & Vaan as archer/white mage characters. Switched them out so everyone leveled similarly. Thoroughly used the gambit system. All I had to do outside of boss battles was move. My significant other teased me that I liked the game so much because I didn't have to actually play it.

I can't how much I love these full length playthroughs from Graham. Just hours of the most wholesome and enjoyable content. I'd love to see him dabble in some Tales games

The jobs system added with Zodiac Age honestly made the game about 10x better than original, at least for me. Not to even mention other quality of life improvements! This is what FF12 always SHOULD have been. 😎

Edit: Good god - I had blissfully forgotten how long the intro is. I had a vague memory of it starting in the streets of Rabanastre, not half an hour of lore dumps :D

This is going to be very interesting - I thoroughly enjoyed Graham's playthrough of VII, which I have a certain nostalgic love for. XII however... not so much. I remember it being very devisive at the time for it's MMO'esque combat (I was a strong defender of turn based, without ATB), and the story really hooked me. Always felt like the two main characters were barely extras along for the ride, let alone relevant characters as the story unfolded.

I do remember loving the asthetics, definitely see a lot of the main city in XIV's desert capital city.

Having the Talk and Action icons be diagetic was a bold choice, but it sure is one Square made.

Vayne's personality in the early cutscenes feels VERY Commodus from Gladiator, the way he's grandious and offers to drink with Migello to win him over, which while friendly, it feels aggressively so.

Extrapolating from the license class system being a in-game world license system and it clicks that everyone is honor/legally-bound to have the proper paperwork to wear a leather hat.
Between this and Tactics, Ivalice is very law-abiding sort of world.
