Fundamentals of Data Science: Demystifying data roles & cloud services

Over the last decade, the amount of data that systems and devices generate has increased significantly. Because of this increase, new technologies, roles, and approaches to working with data are affecting data professionals. Data professionals typically fulfil different roles when managing, using, and controlling data. In this session, you will learn about the various roles that organizations often apply to data professionals, the tasks and responsibilities associated with these roles, and the Microsoft Azure services used to perform them.

• What will you learn?
As we explore the various job roles in the world of data, you will learn how data professionals perform distinct roles in building and managing software solutions, as well as work with multiple technologies and services to do so. By the end of this session, you will be able to identify the most common data professional roles, as well as understand most common cloud services used by data professionals.

Speaker: Hadeel Shubair
Hadeel is a Regional Cloud Advocate and Data Analytics Engineer for Microsoft, Middle East/Africa region. She holds a Master’s degree in Data Analytics and is passionate about learning and sharing her knowledge on tech topics including Data Analytics, AI, & ML. Before joining Microsoft, Hadeel held several appointments and roles including Google Women in Tech scholar through which she delivered several sessions to the community to motivate and empower young talents. Hadeel also served as part of the Data & Communications team overlooking the organization of the World Government Summit. On the other side, while at University, Hadeel chaired the Women in Engineering club, and was the Chief Editor of the Engineering Newsletter.
