EAA AirVenture shuts down early due to weather

The EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh is preparing for the possibility of severe weather and shut down most of its operations for the day at 5 p.m.

I am always amazed that this happens so often at this event, and weather is somewhat forecasted, yet they still have it, and lots of aircraft get destroyed.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how hull insurance premiums go up overnight for the entire US market. There's well over a billion dollars of aircraft still there, and many vendor display aircraft still didn't look particularly well secured as of an hour ago. Those little tie-downs shown in this video are also grossly inadequate for 50kt winds, which is what's currently been reported for this line of storms (30kts sustained, gusting up to 50kts)/

It is pretty bad when you do not have enough room in you're plane to sleep in it over night.
