ABBA Lovelight

A fab ABBA recording that was intended for the 'Voulez Vous' album in 1979 but ended up being inexplicably excluded but used as the B side to the band's 'Chiquitita' which was a worldwide success. 'Lovelight' was eventually featured on the 'More ABBA Gold' collection which was released in 1993. Again, as with 'Dream World', I think that 'Lovelight' would have been perfect for either 'Voulez Vous' or 1980's 'Super Trouper'. At least, being the B side of the huge seller 'Chiquitita' meant that fans had the song on vinyl, but it would be nearly 15 years before it was on a CD. 'Lovelight' would also appear on deluxe and expanded editions on compact disc of the 1979 LP 'Voulez Vous'.

There seem to be at least two versions of 'Lovelight' - this one which is deemed the alternate mix and another which is nearly 30 seconds longer. The shorter one was on 'More ABBA Gold' and the longer on re-issues of this collection. Either way it is another great piece of pop and further proof of ABBA's pre-eminence in the era.
