My grandmother lived for 110 years. She ate sweet potatoes, boiled cabbage, beans all the time.

My daughter is in nutrition classes through Cornell university. She is not in vegan classes or trying to learn how to be a vegetarian. They are teaching the students that plant base diets are what we should be eating. They teach them the long term effects of eating animal protein/fats. She shown me some of the class curriculum. I have been a heavy meat eater especially over the last few years and I have to say I am now eating a vegan dies as of 1 week ago. Everything I’m now learning makes perfect sense

It's so frustrating because not all health professionals tell the same tale. I just graduated with a Diploma in Holistic Nutrition and I specialize on a Vegan and Vegetarian Diet. I took the course because everyone I would talk to had different opinions as well as on Organic foods. I wanted to know the facts..the truth..Now I know but still Doctor's are telling people to go on a Keto diet for example. From experience I have a friend who was healed from keto as her body would break out in hives and no Doctor could figure it out but unfortunately it wasn't the Keto that healed her it was the abstinence of sugar. I figured that one out after speaking to Holistic nutritionist. It's so frustrating when you try and tell people what you have learned and they don't believe you. I have learned to lead by example but unfortunately I also feel like I should keep my mouth shut not to offend anyone.

I’m 71 and I was a vegetarian for years. I went Carnivore about 8 months ago. My mind has become very serene. My aches are gone. My muscles are growing. I feel like I’m twenty.

I have two aunts, one was strick vegan, the other is meat& plant. My strick vegan aunt had all kinds of health issues she died at 50. My meat & plant aunt is still alive and well at 95.

I don’t buy it anymore. Used to be vegan yet my health suffered. All these people that have poor health due to animal consumption AND high carb consumption at the same time. The two don’t mix well. But if u remove the carbs and eat high fat, people do well.

I just find it a little odd... homosapiens are 300, 000 years old. All this time, 280, 000 years we've been wondering around the plains gathering plants we could have farmed. It took us all that time to figure out we can grow and influnce the evolution of plants.

And it's WHEN we discovered farming is also interesting... We began to farm around 13, 000 - 11, 600 BCE. Right when all the Ice Age megafauna was going extinct.

And then there's all those sharp stone tools... going back millions of years... what were they used for? The spears especially.


Then there's the plants... the veggies and fruits. Interesting thing there is... nearly every fruit or veggie you name is a product of the breeding that took place after the advent of farming, roughly 12, 000 BCE. Meaning our ancestors couldn't have eaten them because they weren't around.

Whether it's broccoli, carrots, tomatoes, potatoes, apples, watermelon... whatever, before 12, 000 BCE they would've existed in their wild form and likely tasted awful.

As an African American women, 47yrs., living with MS. I eat lean beef, chicken, fish and pork. I stop eating package foods, soda, store bought juice. Cheat 2x's a month with no gult invested in a nutri-bullet RX make green drinks 24 days each month living on disability(fixed income), exercise with dvds at home 3 to 4 days a wk. I'm just a regular person who can not aford to eat the way other people think I should eat to stay healthy but so far no high blood pressure, no diabetes, not over or underweight I do the best I can with what I have with faith in GOD and keep it moving.

Rewatching this, trying to clarify the actual research proofs for whole food plant diet vs. animal based diets. Nothing beyond personal anecdotal evidence seems to support plant based as opposed to animal based. I know these people are passionate about their point of view. So are paleo people. Ss

The reason I stopped eating most food was because I found out years ago that it's no longer safe, it's filled with chemicals additives GMO organisms hormones & antibiotics, fish was always my favourite but that now contains lead mercury plastic and nuclear waste.

The panel's answers were short on facts, long on arrogance, and didn't seem well received by the oddly morose audience. Came nowhere near answering the question, which was: what is the basis for why we shouldn't eat some animal Clearly, the question stands.

I'd like to see a study done by life insurance companies, these are the people who are betting millions of dollars that you'll live long enough that they won't have to pay out the policy. When I signed up for life insurance, no one asked what I was eating on a daily basis. It was age, weight (BMI) and family history.

My diet is plant based, however, I work in a care home where some of the residents are over 100 and they've eaten meat all their lives. I'm surprised to hear Dr Klaper say he's never met a meat eater over 100. Maybe this is true in America but I doubt it.

Out of respect I listened to the whole video. Sorry, but I did not hear one piece of proof presented or evidence base referred to. It was just a repeat of the popular beliefs and opinions presented as if they are "facts".
What also struck me is how the rest of the panel members sat with "smug" faces as each member spoke.
So yes it was a great question that deserved a better set of answers.
As high as my motivation has been to consider going vegan, these "expert" responses are turning me off.

The question was asked by a man who understands exactly why it is very difficult for many of us to adhere to what you are saying. The channel is called The Real Truth About Health and not Each To Their Own Truth About Health.
Many of us don't want to choose who we should believe and ignore all the others. We are trying to understand what the real truth is. You all have very convincing arguments and it is clear that generally you all have good intentions and you are intelligent people who have done wonderfull work. This is very clear. Where things become unclear is that collectively there are too many inconsistencies and contradictions.There cannot be 15 different real truths that are contradictory. This is not possible.
I give a big thumbs up for the question. The answer, "you should believe us and not them", i find very dissapointing.
