I think a tabletop version would be more popular... similar to an Amazon Echo Show 8. Could be used to show weather, calendar, notifications, and photos... with NO ads

100% would buy, assuming it's handling all homekit/matter/thread protocols and allows the usual home "sharing."

There are plenty of times I don't physically have my phone near me where I am near the center of my house where a central hub could, or I can quickly tap a control from the screen when coming inside or similar situations. A basic home interface and Siri access is all I'd need.

Stuff like this is handy for when you have guests or pet sitters (or baby sitters for those with kids). I actually keep certain things dumb in my house because I don’t have a great way for others to interact with my system when I’m not there.

I would like a base stand similar to the Luxor Jr. iMac, where I can mount an iPad, iPad Pro, or iPad mini. Whenever the iPad is connected, it comes to life and starts interacting with me. It can follow me around and perform tasks as I command using its articulated arm.

I begrudgingly have a Google home device that I use at my parents’ kitchen but it does have some very cool features that I hope they bring to this device. Aside from setting timers, and using voice control for lights/heat/etc, 1. the Google home hub photo slideshows are awesome when it is just sitting on the counter, 2. the ability to watch YT TV and YT while you are in kitchen, 3. although the quality is terrible, I do use it as a speaker for music while cooking, 4. and having the ability to add your recipe app to this device would be important for a kitchen device.

So basically an iPad mini mounted to the wall. I like it. They could also just build the app for iPad Mini or iPads period and then build a charging station it mounts to magnetically - My $0.02
