Hi everyone,
My name is Tracy and I garden (indoors and outdoors) in zone 5, bake and cook at my home in Toronto, Canada.
You are watching a video of Tony's Garden Tour (no voice) filmed on August 13, 2022. The garden has not been getting any hose watering and we have had less than 2 mm of rain water in the last three weeks.
Tony's garden is not looking its best right now because of the "self inflicted drought".
If you are currently experiencing drought in your area, I hope this will give you some hope to know that our plants are more resilient than we believe. Most plants will be able to "weather" a long period of drought and dry conditions.

Thank you so kindly for taking some of your precious time to watch my video.

It’s great to see the garden still thriving and looking great in the heat without water. 💚💚💚

Beautiful garden tour even in the heat of the season, the hedge of Annabelle hydrangeas was amazing. 😍

Wow how beautiful with no water for 3 weeks. That’s amazing! The drought and extreme heat we’ve had all summer here in KS has been just brutal on all my plants including the ones I planted last fall. Today I was trying to save my pinky winky idk if she’ll make it. I try to get a hose and do a good 30 min slow soak once a week but I must’ve forgotten to soak this hydrangea. Yesterday I noticed the leaves were drooping but I thought I just watered on Thursday. Today it’s leaves were crunchy and burned after past several days being in 100-105 degree heat. I’m hoping it will pull through but not looking good at all. This has definitely been a trying summer with this crazy heat. I stopped counting how many plants I’ve lost. One good thing is cooler weather is coming to look forward to. Thanks Tracy for sharing. 🌻

Hi Tracy, thank you for doing this update, Tony's garden is looking lovely, fire & ice hydrangeas are one of my favorites and I love the way the euonymus is growing vertically against the fence, it would look great after a trim. Have a good day Tracy, regards from BWG.

Tony's garden looks amazing for not having water for three weeks! It looks like the apple tree had a huge amount of fruit drop because of the drought. I hope you have a wonderful week in your garden! ~Margie😊💐🦋

Not bad considering the drought you’re experiencing…I really feel your pain.
Gardening in Australia we have long droughts sometimes months without rain but this year we have had record rain and floods.
Mother Nature can be harsh…but we adapt.
The key is to lock in the moisture with a thick layer of mulch. I use sugar cane much as it breaks down it improves the soil.
Love your hydrangeas..they are very popular in North America.
I wish they were more readily available here in Sydney, Australia.

I appreciate your text! I have a question!! I planted Invincibelle hydrangeas last year, so it’s been one full year! 4 of them! 2 of them have huge blooms! HUGE! And did so great until a week ago, I noticed that they look like they are burning or something. Turning brown! What is happening? Also, the other 2 have no buds or blooms. One was broken by wind and was barely a couple inches out of the ground last fall. But it came back and grew to a small shrub. No blooms! The other one, did good and is quite tall after a year but no blooms. Nothing. Leaves look healthy too! What do you think?
