This scam had existed for about a year, it first really popped up for "duped TF2 items"

this is actualy pretty smart since both of the scammers seems trust worthy and you get really scared because you think you're account is going to get banned so you give the information away without thinking straghit

Sadly a good friend I met on left for dead fell for this I instantly knew it wasn’t him because he would never act like this. So I spread the info around to multiple friends on discord and servers in hopes of their safety. Stay safe gamers.

I like to troll them. At first I'm listening to the first guy, then he sends me a link to the second guys account. When he asks me how could he help me, I just ask him what is the weather outside, or other stupid question. At the end I'm going back to the first guy and I tell him that his, ,friend" said to me that everything is fine and Steam won't ban me for this.

I got this in my DMs and the scammer sent me to discord and he tried to get me to log out of my steam account and kept dogging my questions and then sent me a gif of him clicking something about a pending ban when those don't exist on steam. I also asked for proof he was employed by Valve and wasn't a scammer and just kept sending fake photos a "contract". 10/10 scam ladies and gentlemen.

I got scammed a few days ago, I'm only 17 and I've been struggling to find a job due to the pandemic so losing £100 was really hard on me. I've had a history of being blackmailed and manipulated for years and when I realised I was going through that again it hit me even harder. I will definitely be more careful in the future, I was just afraid if I told anyone I would be laughed at and looked down on.

There's also a new type of scam that happened to me twice. Two different people claimed that someone was pretending to be me and that that someone was scamming people, they sent the same exact message to me. They both said that I should send them a friend request to discuss the situation further. But I didn't have to send a friend request to talk to them, and also why would anyone pretend to be me? I blocked them but wasn't sure if they were telling the truth or not. A couple of days later I get the same message from a different user, then I was sure that it was a lie, just to scam me. If you get the same message please block the person that sent it.

Thank you for the video. Before I installed steam, I listened to your video to know the scam, and I got the same message a few months later saying “I accidentally reported your account” and I knew it was a scammer so I blocked them and reported them. I got it twice

It happened to me tonight. What sucks is that the person that tried to scam me was someone that was in my list of friends on discord. So he either was someone that played with me for month, or he himself have been hacked. I do hope its the second one, because if its the first...
