Arduino Neural Network Robot Part 1: Prototype and Design

Показать описание
In this video series, Sean Hodgins will be creating an open source Arduino based robot from scratch that will navigate using some photoresistors and a neural network. In this video Sean will look at testing some off the shelf components, use those components to create a schematic, and finally use those schematics the create a custom circuit board. By the end of this series you will be able to create your own neural network robot using the resources provided below.

This was a fun build. Stay tuned for Part 2!

Where can I find the schematic? I want to build one of these myself.

This is really cool. Thanks for all the steps. I’ve been always wanting to get into robotics. I’ve done some stuff with raspberry pies but nothing like what you are doing. Thanks for sharing.

This is really solid tutorial. I'm very impressed about Your skills and knowledge.
I was trying to learn designing my own PCBs but it's hard piece of cake.

This is really exciting! Had a project in mind for a few weeks now of building a simple quadruped bot and having it learn to walk around using a simple neural net and reinforcement learning :-) I suspect your neural net will have inputs for each light sensor (and a bias perhaps) and two outputs for the motor speeds? Reward behaviors that lead to most/less light sort of idea?! Interested to see how you get the small net running and if there are libraries involved that make it easier on the arduino.

What about this design makes it a neural network. Is the program the key? Is this a more complicated version of a beam robot?
Would be nice if someone could explain it to me.

Did you manually route the whole pcb? no autoroute?

Love you man❤ Thanks for this video . Hopefully I'll complete my project.

So the board that you have made will completely take the place of the arduino? Will you have to flash the new board with arduino firmware or something? This is so cool!

I am interested in robotic but u r show very fast I did not understand and u can put in link it so easy for us

Great explications - at some point I think I may get into custom PCBs, but for the moment, quick prototyping is my thing :) Waiting a week for a project in progress is painful :)

Please make me your disciple !!! i love this stuff but dont know where to start i have done a course on coursera about ml and have learnt arduino basics but really cant find someone to guide me through the process of what should i do you work like someone whom i dream of please can you tell me what should i do so that im capable of doing the same stuff as you pls!!!

I think we would need multiple Arduino boards cross connected in such a way they can build a large brain cortex which will allow the cortex to learn through experience possibly two colour cameras interfaced into the cortex will allow the robot to see the world as we see the world and start to understand where it is in this world and what about a nuclear battery with a life of about the same lifetime as a human.

Thanks for showing us that you know how to do this. is this supposed to be a how to video, or watch me do it video?

u seem just like an awesome guy!!! could you tell me what did u study in college???

I tried to learn KiCAD, I invested one hour every day for two months and I was never able to create a completed design. Too complicated for me. I had the same experience with Eagle. Now I use copper connection, much better fit for hobbyists in my opinion.

Good topic, you forgot to add electrolytic decoupling capacitors across your motor driver.

Would be great if you could start to explain what you are doing. You didn't present an outlook what we can expect from the robot and we have no clue how to design our own boards now. We would be just able to download you files or order you board. This is not very educative.
