Quick and Easy Crochet Headband Tutorial and Free Pattern

Easy crochet headband tutorial. In this beginner crochet tutorial pattern, I show you how to easily crochet a simple headband pattern that you can adjust to fit anyone's head. This crochet headband is great for crochet newbies or experts alike!

Crochet Kassandra's Headband
Materials:
Crochet Hook: Size H, 8, or 5.00MM
Yarn: Eddie Bauer Alpaca & Merino Wool Blend Yarn, Size 4, Medium Weight (this is thicker than other yarns of this size), ~200 yards.
Add-ons:

Attach yarn to crochet hook using a slip knot.
Row 1: CH 14, turn.
Row 2: In 3rd CH, working in the BLO, place 1 HDC, then 1 HDC in the BLO of each remaining st (12 total HDC st). CH 2, urn.
Row 3: Skip 1st st. In gap between 1st & 2nd st, place 2 HDC, working BETWEEN the stitches. **Skip next 2 st, then place 2 HDC in the gap BETWEEN 2nd & 3rd st.** Repeat around the row. At the end of the row, place 1 HDC around the CH loop at the end of the row (13 total HDC st). CH 2, turn.
Row 4: Skip 1st 2 HDC (1st is CH 2), then working between the “V” place 2 HDC. Working between each “V,” place 2 HDC. Place 1 HDC around the CH 2 at the end of the row (13 total HDC).
Rows 5 - 46: Repeat Row 4. Can increase or decrease the number of rows here to fit the size of the head of the person you are making this for.
Fold Headband in half lengthwise so the two short ends are on top of each other.
CH 1, then crochet the two short ends together using SL stitches.
Cut and tie off yarn, hide the ending tail in the seam formed while joining the two edges.
Flip headband right-side out.
