China's city night scene is built on top of three things. Firstly the energy revolution ensures cheap and reliable electricity. Secondly domestic industry provides cheap and advanced lighting equipment. Lastly and most importantly, the government has authority to coordinate buildings with different ownership to participate in the same show, making the city one giant canvas.

So the answer is not why they do that, just because it's good and they can.

Subscribed. Very nice video. I have been to China, their cities & infrastructure are just so advanced. I seriously doubt why China calls itself a developing country. I have been to Hangzhou, Shenzhen, Shanghai & Hongkong, Shenzhen is my favorite city, it's truly amazing, so clean and advanced. Shanghai and Hongkong are world class cities too.
