Even the take downs Dricus tried didn’t result in anything but showing that Sean could get right back up with no damage.

I like how bisping was talking about ddp fighting with one eye ....he obviously knows what he is talking about

I had Strickland 3-2 DDP pushed the pace but was not as effective as Sean for me. The takedowns didn't have much of an impact. Not a robbery and not a decisive win so a rematch would be warranted at some stage

Strickland's style worked against him on the scorecards...DDP looked like the aggressor and looked like he landed the heavier shots...though his face tells a different story...great fight either way!!

Don’t agree and neither did Dana but maybe that’s just cause the ufc got what they wanted..and since when does a close decision go to the challenger ??

I'm an American who's lived in South Africa for 15 years, I'm married to an Afrikaans woman and my kids are equally fluent in English, Afrikaans, and to a lesser extent, Xhosa and Zulu. As far as the fight goes, Sean is probably my favorite fighter since Connor but I've been a fan of Dricus since he was in EFC, I had a hard time rooting for either over the other and would have liked a more decisive victory. All of that said, I haven't seen South Africans come together to celebrate one of their own to this degree in all of the time that I've lived here, so I'm very happy for South Africans and seeing the videos of people in pubs/at watch parties get so pumped, regardless of cultural and racial boundaries, that I think it's awesome what Dricus did by winning that belt has done for the people of his country. In a perfect world, I'd like to see Strickland be his next rematch, but I'd bet anything that it'll be Izzy who"ll get a shot, and if it happens in South Africa (as Dana talked about in the post-fight press conference), the country would go nuts to watch Dricus knock him out on SA soil.

DDP getting the belt was an anti-climax. There was nothing to celebrate because the fight was even. I think Strickland did enough to keep the belt.

If they don’t give Sean the immediate rematch, I think Izzy beats Dricus.

Dricus can’t wing those wild hooks at Izzy and expect to be successful, Izzy is way too good of a counter striker and too defensively sound imo

Dricus main weapon in that hypothetical fight should be his takedowns
