Why Sapporo is Special - (Hokkaido, Japan)

Sapporo, Hokkaido in Japan is a special city. The people are exceptionally kind but what I really like is that they are very down-to-earth and real. They are the ideal blend of traditional Japan and the West. Maybe it has to do with the large open areas and space, or the harsh winters that create a closer community, but I have always felt there was something different about people who live in Hokkaido. 2018 I spend 1 month in Sapporo/Hokkaido . This is the best place to visit . Hokkaido is a big island, lots of sight seeing out side Sapporo, with the JR Shinkansen I travel across the island . I really love the place . 4 years now, I can’t wait to comeback again when Japan reopen for individual travel .

I went to the Snow Festival in 2019 its a great spot.I stayed in Kuriyama a small town outside Sapporo it's magical.Much love from 🇮🇪

Just came back from Sapporo, the snow can be terrifying. Cars can literally be half buried under the snow, but the people are indeed friendly, things are cheaper than in Tokyo, the staffs are dedicated. And the sceneries are breathtaking.

Will go back to Hokkaido in the future.

sitting there is not so bad... use the seat and. Just get up when an older person gets on the train. Offer the seat to pregnant ladies.

It makes me crazy when I see young people sitting in those special seats playing mobile games or on social media while an old lady is barely staying on her feet as the train bumps around and people push into each other.
