Aurora writes and composes all her songs. But her "God Is A Woman" cover was apparently studied/made with an hour of rehearsal, give it a shot if you like. It is delicious.
Also listen to some interviews of her, they are a sort of performance in themselves.
I think the Billie Eilish link is that they appear to be light hearted songs but the lyrics have dark layers.

We are all so fortunate to have Aurora singing for the world. A special thanks is due to her mother/parents for encouraging her to sing her songs for other people when she had no natural inclination to do so. She is captivating beyond words. Both as a singer and performer. So very unique.

For this song, I have a very different take-away than most. Many people immediately think of domestic violence or abuse as the basis of the song. Wipe the board clean of that for a moment and consider the following. Many people have pets that, for all intents and purposes, are beloved members of the family. Some will eventually die of natural causes but some will have a gradual decline in health towards the end of life. They stop eating. They stop drinking. They have a hard time getting up and walking due to hip and shoulder problems. And sometimes at this stage in their life we have to make the decision to end their life as their suffering and quality of life will only get worse with time. All of the family says their goodbyes but one of you has the heartbreaking task of taking your pet to be euthanized. You look in the eyes of your beloved friend in those last moments and this song exactly describes the moment. Tears me up every time I hear it.

She always says in concerts (I have been to one it is incredible!) and she always says this is a love song, it is about a couple so in love that he kills her to save her from how horrible the world has become, she knows he is going to kill her and understands it is because they love each other that much. It is a beautiful song that I love dearly.
She writes all of her own songs and produces nearly all of them as well. She taught herself piano at 6 years old and taught herself to sing, but wouldn't let anyone hear her not even her parents until she was 15 (if I have that age right). To give you an idea of her level, she wrote "Runaway" at 12 years old. She said the inspiration to write it came out of nowhere, and she didn't understand what it meant so she put it away. A year or two later (I don't remember exactly) a friend of hers was killed in the Norway mass shooting, and she said suddenly she understood the song and knew what it was about.
That to me is crazy, how many writers out there have done things like that? Not many, that's for sure.

Aurora is a spectacular performer, pouring raw emotion into every note. One of her most captivating was at Nidarosdomen Cathedral at Christmastime in Norway which was aired on Norwegian television NRK1 in December 2017. Runaway and Murder Song are her early works, but the Cathedral concert with a choir and orchestra was a command performance like none other. I would suggest you delve into that as a starting point for singing in the moment, so to speak.

Runaway she wrote when she was 11 =) i know Aurora has said this is a sad love story but she also said that songs can change meaning from when she wrote them to where she is in life today. in most of her songs its very much up to the listener to add our own emotions and experiences. One theory i like about this song is that she/the woman represents mother earth while the man with the gun represents the human race.

I hope you keep reacting to Aurora! I will surely be waiting for it! Just discovered her last week and can’t stop listening to her! She has actually stolen some of my “Nightwish time” but only because she is the only one besides Floor Jansen that brings waves of emotion into me, and also as Floor, she is truly inspirational and beautiful as a Woman and as a Human being!! And, as well as with Nightwish, Aurora is a much richer experience live!!

Yay, you've discovered Aurora! Her range and ability is amazing, she writes all her own songs and some of them when she was very young. While it's not her singing by herself I'd highly recommend Helvelyn by Wardruna - That's a completely different style and she's also singing in her native Norwegian.

I read somewhere Aurora mentioned in an interview that the song was about a real story. One man killed his wife out of love (don't remember exactly why) and she wrote the song from the victims perspective
