Driver Hits Biker & Cop Takes His Side

These Riders were in a group ride when one of the riders held traffic so all the bikers can leave out of the parking lot together. An angry driver didn't want to wait so he hit the motorcycle with his car. After arguing who's fault it was, they called the police where a cop seemed to take the driver's side. Who's At fault here?

Stopping traffic is a ticketable offence, hitting someone with you car should be attempted manslaughter. In the end both are wrong to different degrees.

There is no possible situation, where a driver can collide with another vehicle legally, outside of self-defense in a life and death situation.

On the other hand, traffic is managed all day every day so that groups of cars and motorcycles can pass safely while the others wait. It’s time to call bullshit on the county being the only person or body that can authorize stopping traffic for the purpose of safety and the well-being of everyone involved.

To hold traffic on, is a traffic violation. To hit a motorcyclist with a car, on purpose, is assault and perhaps assault with deadly intent. Just recently a man was sentenced in Texas to 15 years in prison, for swerving his car on purpose on a motorcycle.

The cops right. The bikes should leave individually. Doesnt matter though, bikers dont follow traffic laws. Some will end up being stains on the road because of the way they ride.

Traffic don't stop for Groups of bikers that's like one car pulling out and stopping and letting all the other cars go while most cycles are coming.

Be patient, kind, and courteous. The people riding a motorcycle could get really injured Very easily. Riders bodies are totally exposed ! I’ve seen groups do this quite often ! It is truly for their safety. Come on! Is it really that big of a deal? Can’t we all be grown adults. Lead by example!!!

The guy that stopped traffic to get a citation for impeding traffic and the guy in the car should get a ticket for hitting the bike

I think the more we see these large biker groups dictate what amounts to a road power trip, the more likelihood for road rage. The egos from within these groups imposing themselves is something everyone else is easily offended by, and threatened. Easily.

I live in a rural area. Sometimes ranchers have to move cows from pasture to pasture. I would think it insane for someone to just slam into the herd. It would be easier to just wait a short moment to allow everyone to accomplish their day. Its called being decent.

BUT - the car driver should be arrested for vehicular assault, large fine & bail, vehicle towed & impounded. If found guily - pay fines, jail, permanently lose license - and judge should send a notice he lost his license & why to the other 49 states.

The car is at fault for assaulting the cyclist. The biker didn't have the right to hold up traffic. But, hitting someone with your car is arrestable. Biker can get a ticket for interrupting the flow of traffic. But the car committed assault. The driver of the car should have been arrested.
