Does RANKED 2.0 make your rank meaningless?

Ranked 2.0 separates the MMR from your visual rank, meaning that who you can be in a match with and your skill level is no longer represented by your ranked badge.

I think people are having a huge misconception about the new system. the big thing that is missing here is that your hidden mmr gain/loss is affected by the difference between your visual rank and that hidden mmr value, the closer that your mmr is to your rank the less you gain and the more you will lose, and the farther away they are from each other you will gain more you will lose less. This will essentially help to reduce Smurfing and will also stop rank inflation so people don’t end up where they don’t belong. Also that scenario of the champs and copper would never happen unless there was some serious rank inflation happening.

This change also happened in league of legends and is probably the best change to ranked in a long time so give it a chance

I’m constantly beating champions and diamonds as a plat player. This shouldn’t be happening. Btw I can’t break out of plat for some reason even though I’m beating current and former champs and diamonds.

A year later and somehow hit emerald, next season after that im hard stuck plat 4 because the hidden mmr thinks i belong in high lobbies while my kd is 1 and my win loss is 1.
Nothing is balanced currently.

All I know is I was a hard stuck gold/low plat in original ranked then the first season I got plat, didn't play the next two, now I'm emerald 3 would probably be higher if I didn't start half way through the season

does normal games impact? cause Im good in normal games, but when I play ranked there are plat and diamonds against me and I cant kill anyone(im bronze)

Thats actually not true, im high plat/low dia (old system) im diamond 5 now. Im getting 45+/35- playing against dia/champs. My friend is low gold (old system) hes plat 5 now, getting 34+/45- playing against old plats. IMO rank is now more skill based and balanced than before.

Bro at the start of the season I was constantly winning while getting 90 84 rp so I basically was ranking up fast so basically the system seen me as a plat and put me with players 20x better than me your saying talking about 84 rp each win now bc I kept losing I only get 17 15 and 20 rp wtf this mmr ranking thing is wierd
