Ben's current wife first treated him like shit when they first met, their whole relationship development was sudden and forced to match a narrative. Meanwhile he had such a natural and loving relationship with both Ester and even Julie, both of whom "broke up" with him and were cut out of the story for plot convenience. I'm still not over how they broke off Ben and Julie with the most ridiculous misunderstanding while Alien Force showed both of them having such good chemistry.
