i so agree with so many guys not reading books by women it's ridiculous. in the words of paris geller: "typical guy, worship kerouac and bukowski, god forbid he picks up jane austen"

When reading Tender is the Flesh, I really had to remind myself that this book is based in Argentina. Where meat is a huge part of culture and economy so once you place it in that context you can understand why veganism wasn't even a consideration. But still a wild quick read.

The Secret History should be a 6 episode mini series with just ONE season and actually honor that because I need the layers~ I'm also crying at how shady this is.

Malala: “I only talk about peace.”

Me, an Intellectual: (relates to both)

Oh wow, Pedro Pascal's book recommendations are GOLDEN. One Hundred Years of Solitude? Master and Margarita? Crime and Punishment? This man has taste <3

Chris Evans seems actually quite humble about to his spiritual, deep thinking tendencies, never forces it on anyone. It just helps with his anxiety. Which is what I, a rotten cynic, gotta respect.

Literature taste should be an official category at oscars, it'd actually be interesting to watch it then

Jacob Elordi’s Elvis movie is not another Elvis biopic. It’s about Priscilla (and the movie is called ‘Priscilla’). Priscilla Presley is also going to be a producer on the film. I think it’s important that her story is being told, regardless of the fact that there was an Elvis movie just last year :)

Also, you really should watch Kristen in Spencer, she was was incredible in it and even Princess Diana's former chef said her performance was by far the most accurate portrayal

2:18. He’s missing out. Kristen Stewart in Spencer (Princess Diana movie) was so good. Different form what Emma Corrin did in the Crown but still very good

Donna Tartt actually refuses any more adaptations of her work after the disastrous Golden Finch adaptation which she despised so unless there is a major change of heart from Tartt giving the go ahead, don't hold your breath for an adaptation any time soon.

I know it's an old book, but I kind of wish you didn't mention how When Breath Becomes Air ends, because the abrupt transition from his voice to another was so perfectly analogous to how it will be for us all one day - caught midsentence. I had no idea that was going to happen when I was reading this in public and I just started bawling. A book whose execution is greater than all the writings within and it catching my off-guard was the perfect way to experience it.

You should also do like older actors! Helen mirren, Meryl streep, Pierce brosnan, Judi dench types? would interesting to see their recs.

you should do one of these for Henry Cavill sometimes, his taste in books (all sci-fi/fantasy) is so unique compared to most actors.

I saw Rob Pattinson in the thumbnail, so I clicked. You should totally do a video on him, he talks about books relatively often!! Also, you're so right about him and how he says the most random stuff in interviews. He's mentioned in the past how he just makes up stories sometimes hahaha.
