It's easy to forget all the little wins and achievements when we're so stuck in the weeds; obsessing over growth. You may not see all the little improvements in the short term, but when you look at the long term, it's like night and day. It's a marathon, not a sprint - even just showing up is incredibly important.

Very well said!

As someone who's starting out, it's nice to hear from someone who's been doing this for a while. Thank you Sagiki, much love from me.

Not a vtuber but a content creator from another industry. Your words lifted me today, thank you.

I don't know if or when your moment will come but I'm here to witness.

Thanks for the encouragement. I definitely feel this.

I've been streaming for 3 months. I know I've no right to feel "invisible" or like "what I do doesn't matter" yet, because I know others have gone for much longer with equally little success... but I totally feel everything you said. When I'm talking to no one, or people don't show up, it's so easy to blame myself. Maybe I'm just boring. Maybe I'm not entertaining enough. Maybe I should have been wittier, should've been quicker on the draw, I was silent for too long, I played the wrong game. Maybe people hate that my design is so influenced by Gura, maybe 90% of male vtubers just aren't meant to make it, etc.

I know I haven't earned my stripes to be even have the right to make these complaints so early on. And with my biggest vtuber influence leaving soon, things just feel extra sad. Honestly... I just want to know what it's like to have the same 5 people regularly constantly talking in chat to me and to each other and to enjoy talking to them while I stream.

Thank you, I really needed this advice.
Speaking as someone who fell into the ego trap of "falling behind", that line of thought could also lead to straining friendships and other relationships. Do not unga bunga the numbers! We can't min-max people's perspective on us, but we can always try to min-max what we trully want to do.

Very good speech, here. There were a few times that I felt that way in VTubing and a lot MORE in the Other Domain (IRL) thanks to the strange upbringing I ended up with, but keeping my work up and engaging with my community is what matters, for my own and from what I've seen many others' case.

What a nice video to get recommended. Granted I'm not consistent but recently I've really been struggling in general with hitting the go live button. Something I'm trying to work on. Thank you for making this vid!

I'm always trying new things and my growth over the years has been pretty chaotic. I've never wanted to give up being a content creator, but the feeling that I'll never get to the point where I can make a living from this is crushing at times. I mean I've been doing this over 4 years now... I'm still the small bean I've always been. xD

Hey Sagiki, It's UmbriJohn (this is my personal account, lol) Great advice. And make sure you stay strong too. I may not always be there in chat, but I'm rooting for you.

oversaturation, to many people doing the same thing. OF is a prime example of this, the average women on OF only makes $140 a month, that's it. this issue is across the board, it affects a lot of different entertainment fields.

...I'm gonna be honest. Despite there not being alot of people on the youtube side of the chat, I didn't mind since I liked the feeling of being seen by a larger creator. Your content is genuinely entertaining though, so it's not the only reason I stuck around.

Even if your shop attracts more regulars and gets bigger, I'll be sure to show up every once in a while.

(Not a vtuber but can definitely relate)

I'm not into vtubing but i understand and if it helps i can say 1 thing
You should be determined no matter what you're goals are for you and YOU alone don't let someone else's success block your path and tell you why not you
You can start with finding your voice and speaking up more to show your confidence and how serious you are about this.
Its really what you set yourself up for to become what you wanted there are roadblocks and pits but there's always a path just keep moving forward y'all
(I ramble too much)

yea i have this problem everytime i go live. everytime i play a game or something thats niche it never goes well but i get why it doesnt. the problem is the games that people wanna see i.m not interested in and i dont wanna force myself to like something that i dont like. i read alot of info on how to grow your twitch but its usually the same answers as everyone else. i believe it just comes down to luck and hope something of your content blows up in the youtube or whatever space. at times i do feel like giving up as i.m not moving anywhere but l'll keep trying. thanks for the video
