Clone troopers love punching battle droids. It's in their DNA to be skilled soldiers, even in melee combat. Punching droids is always risky business for the clones. Clones like Cody and Rex have survived countless melee battles with droids.

I still don't get it how everyone's punching droids from Commando's over to Grievous with no issue at all and that guy somehow was hurt hitting a B1

Okay but the fact that one clone got comboed in the air by the Commando but was still able to get up and fight is pretty damn impressive - a punch from a heavy armoured droid like the Commando would be seriously devasting to the average man (reminder that they can kick a large supply crate out of the way, partially, with relative ease)
