This seems like such a weird case. He said/she said with no solid details or proof well after 25 years. If there was more proof I could understand it. Granted, this is civil and not criminal. How, exactly, was she defamed?

This whole thing is absolutely ridiculous. She lied about what happened to sell her book, and Trump calls her out on it, but still has to pay. Paying $83 million, or whatever the amount is, for defamation is ridiculous too. Far less amounts were paid out for accidental deaths. If anything, Trump should be suing her for defamation.

Why? She offered no evidence but her own word. She couldn't even name the day, month or year this supposedly happened. But yes, let's believe the words of someone who has everything to gain and who's entire case was financed by the political rivals of the defendant. Seems legit
