Speaker Biography: Dr. Neuenschwander is an emergency physician at Doctors Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He is active at the Ohio State University as an Adjunct Associate Professor with resident teaching and research collaboration. Dr. Neuenschwander is the primary investigator on a number of studies and was the co-chair for the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP)expert consensus panel on hyperkalemia. He was also a member of the ACEP expert consensus panel on hepatic encephalopathy.

Webinar Abstract: Bacterial and viral infections produce a wide range of similar signs and symptoms leading often to the inappropriate use of antibiotics. Close to 2.8 million people in the United States get an antibiotic-resistant infection each year, and approximately 30% of antibiotic prescriptions are thought to be unnecessary.
