Reaping profits from industry while being Mayor at the same time...totally legit where I live, lol

Welp. Looks like Cities: Skylines has just completely beaten Simcity 2013 in every aspect.

"Until we get a proper sequel" Dude, it's a Paradox Game, Ten years from now, you'll be reviewing the 21st expansion for Cities Skylines...

The specialization of the industry and other components that past expansions have brought, it makes me think of Sim City Societies where you could make authoritarian cities. Skylines is just so amazing and superior, that it always is a joy to play, just as your reviews of games like this is a joy to watch.

Still waiting for a "Political Corruption" DLC.

cause Public Funds are never untouched like in-game. xD

Wait a minute... building or subsidizing industries, mail delivery, new transport options... did we just get a Transport Tycoon-like expansion?

I love the closeups of how the semi-trucks delivered their goods... with imperfectly-executed physically-impossible jacknifed 3-point turns. You know, like how regular vehicles do it. Like at 1:02, 4:10 and 4:29.

Damn. When did Cities: Skylines get so pretty? (especially the nighttime light & fog effects)

I hope you're having a good day.

I'm finally sold on this game.

I really like their approach to expansions, instead of adding in new ancillary content, make the existing stuff more detail oriented and customization, while adding in more challenges with resource management and planning.

This feels like Skylines is branching out of the Sim City genre and taking a stab at Tropico's style.

I haven't played either Park Life or Industries but I like the idea of modular stuff in this game. It lets your city have more personalization, and I wish more elements of the game had that rather than having to rely on mods (such as airports). I like the models in this DLC, some of that stuff looks legit. Especially the oil industry stuff! Also FINALLY, toll roads! Might have to pick up this DLC.

My man Clint, what's your favourite DLC so far?

Great to see an Indie game still getting love 3 years on. More than happy to buy expansions of developers like these who treat them as ways of making the game better, not just their wallet fuller.

Wait, hold on... more industry specialization? More roads? Worker unions? K-keeping the look of buildings even when they level up?!
...
I. Need. This. DLC! With this I can keep the somehwat "poorer" look of level 1 and 2 buildings, without risking to anger the citizens enough to make them leave instantly.

Cities: Skylines is very definitely a perfect example on how to do things right in this genre. Started of with a small dev team and not too much innovation, but offered a polished experience which emphasized the inert creative aspect of city building by allowing full mod support from the get-go. And well...having large plots of land and... you aren't forced to be online all the time. The addons just further added onto this experience while also adding some additions for free. I remember how I happy I was about the new european maps and building styles. Made me feel just like home.
Cities: Skylines has long left the pure polishment part and treaded into new areas, adding more to the concept. Parklife and Industries are fresh examples of this, as were Snow fall and...and I forgot how the nightlife dlc was called.
And to think it all started with a small starting dev team, who competed agains the old genre master Maxis, who only had their expierence with the Cities in motion series and a much smaller budget. It is an incredible underdog story come true for once.

I apologize for sounding a bit cheesy here. I just wanted to say how much I love that game. Of course not everything is perfect. Nothing is. But the devs clearly loved what they are doing and it shows. A very fun game, which is polished and works well. It encourages creativity in city building and is popular with different types of players.

Great review, LGR. I like your sense of humor and how you structure your reviews. Easy to follow and nice to listen to. Keep up the good work. :)

The last City Sim I've played was Anno 2205. It's a trap. It doesn't let you escape. I swear these type of games are drugs

I wasn't a big fan of the 'building add-ons' being paid dlc as i didnt feel it added anything of real value to the game play. But this, this is a proper DLC that adds content to an already complete game, which is what DLC *should* do (instead of adding content that was removed so the game felt incomplete)

4:12 I'm pretty sure that maneuver was both impossible and illegal.
