Christmas at Chatsworth 2020 - a virtual Christmas tour

In 2020 - after a year of planning, months of making and weeks of building - we were unable to open Christmas at Chatsworth. It would have been the first time in centuries that Chatsworth had not been able to welcome visitors over the festive season so, we filmed a tour of the experience and invited everyone in virtually instead. Every Christmas, we head over from the US to spend Christmas with our extended family and close friends in England. And for the last 6 or 7 years, we’ve made every effort to do the Christmas Tour at Chatsworth. It’s become one more Christmas tradition.

This was a welcome gift given we aren’t heading over this year. Thank you 🙏🏼

Wow! The team did a wonderful job! Not only is it challenging to decorate a place that large, but the house is already stunning alone so I imagine it is easy to lose the formality of Christmas among such stunning architecture (not a challenge I've ever had..hahaha) and I love that the school children, care home, and staff contributed with their homemade decorations! It makes things extra special and is also mindful of the enormous budget it would take to decorate the place. Thank you for sharing!

What a treasure. Great Britain should be congratulated on their dedication to preserving these historic properties. Here in the USA, we don’t have these treasures. Our 15th century buildings are all made of logs 😉❤️
