Myanmar Coup Protesters Stage 'Flash Mob' Rally

Dozens of anti-coup protesters held a "flash mob" protest Tuesday in the Latha township in Yangon, Myanmar's largest city.

They flashed the three-fingered salute as they marched on the streets during mid-day traffic, chanting pro-democracy slogans.

The demonstrators dispersed 10 minutes later to avoid being detected by security forces.

It was the latest protest by people opposed to the military takeover of Myanmar three months ago.

The junta that seized power in February continues to face challenges to its rule.

Security forces often use lethal force to break up protests.

God bless all my brothers and sisters of all ethnicities fighting the military terrorists in Myanmar. May God keep you safe. The young people fighting in the streets with improvised weapons against the military in Yangon, Mandalay, and other urban areas know they are poorly equipped for the task but they have no choice because they know that if they do not fight or try and resist their future and the future of their children is in jeopardy. The Junta kidnaps/kills and threatens the lives of the family members who show any kind of activism against their regime.

If Min Aung Hlaing and his cronies are allowed to stay in power, I am afraid it will return to the days when General Than Shwe was in charge. The top brass and their cronies will get richer and also violence against ethnic minorities will increase as they will try and expand their influence on states rich with natural resources and potential areas of black-market exploitation. As they get rich the vast majority of the population will suffer from lowering living standards, infrastructure, education, and healthcare as the generals will siphon off resources from the public sectors of government they control. Our country's military history has shown this to be the case. The little progress we made over the past couple of years will be destroyed.
