Definitely in the top 3 solos of my lifetime. Super tasty, smooth drive, fits the vibe of the song perfectly. It just takes me on short feel-good journey. I could listen to the solo alone repeatedly.

I remember Don and Walter going through this one on the mixer console and loved his comment about it. " He's got that Hawaiian thing going there, "he said. Besides nailing every nuance and hitting it out of the park, he gave it a great feel with those bends.

From tone to articulation, that is one of the tastiest solos of all time.

Iconic solo, you can never forget it, true improvising. Perfect 👌

This is just one of those great guitar moments from my childhood in the 70s sitting in the backseat of a Cadillac listening to the radio snd thinking, man, I want to do that one day! Thank you, Tim! And thank you, Jay

One of my FAVORITE albums! I got when i was so young and learning to play by ear, gobbling up all the great music that caught my ears, genre didn't matter, what i heard, that mattered.... this was one of them.. great album!

By not playing licks it reveals you as a player - exposed and feeling your way through. This is a perfect example as there’s no one on the planet that sounds like this in these 30 seconds it took to play.

One of my top 10 solos of all time for sure, kind of reminiscent of the sound from Don Felders “one of these nights” I love to crank that one up to 10 . Also Elliot Randall on Reelin in the years, also in top 10, Also Larry Carlton in kid Charlemagne. Jeff Baxter on Rikki, Shit I just realized my top 7 out of 10 fav guitar solos might just be from Steely Dan records !!

That whole tone bend on the 2nd and 3rd strings is extremely difficult to get into pitch. It sounds great if you nail it but horrible if you miss it. This solo is great to develop theory and chord spelling. Jon Herrington makes his own version on the dukes of September live concert in a similar style.

Can any of you wizards put together a nice tab/transcription of this solo for lesser players like me?
