Rep. Mike Turner: Alleged leaker treating classified docs ‘like a game’ is ‘certainly very chilling’

Chairman of the Intelligence Committee Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH), who has been briefed on the leaked Pentagon documents, joins Andrea Mitchell to share his thoughts about the implications of the leak on confidence in the intelligence community and America’s relationships around the world. “This is a crime. This is espionage, and this involves real people,” says Turner. “This could hurt real people and real people could be killed and lose their lives over leaks of classified information. To make this all the way down to where it seems almost like a game to these individuals is certainly very chilling.”

Our classified information was held securely before the tRump administration. I worked for the government for over 20 years and the protocol for handling government files was extremely strict.

Time to consider updating security background checks for 21st century culture. 21 year olds who are playing Minecraft with teenagers are not functional adults. They shouldn't be trusted to watch your pets over a long weekend, let alone given this kind of clearance. And if it turns out this was an IT guy who was poking around without clearance, we need a a top to bottom review of hiring practices for information technology.

Might I suggest to Mr. Turner that he start his search at Mar-a-Lago in Florida, and if the person he is looking for isn't there, that he then stakeout any of several court rooms in New York City, as at least one of the people he is looking for often appears in those court rooms.
