Baby Seal Deeply CUT By Fishing Line

While driving along the beach at Pelican Point, Naude and Antoine saw a young Cape Fur Seal with a deep looking cut around his chest. They were not sure if this animal was entangled, or if it was an old rescued animal that still had a scar... When in doubt, go out! ....that's the rule!
They managed to catch the pup in the net, and on closer inspection saw that there was a dark thin plastic rope inside the wound, causing all the damage.
Antoine managed to cut the rope free, and carefully removed it before setting the young animal free again. 🦭

Damn humans. The slogan "leave no trace" should apply to our oceans also! I really appreciate how you are extra careful when removing lines that are cutting into these pups. Hope this one heals quickly. GREAT job!
