What's happening to Ms. Lich is not normal. He could have said more about that. In any event, when you give real answers (unlike the Liberals who have irrelevant taking point responses), sometimes they are not always perfect. I hope Pierre maintains humility despite his popularity. Pride can lead to trouble.

I don’t understand why everyone’s dissatisfied with his comments. Poilievre has zero control over that situation as of right now. He just said his role as PM isn’t to interfere with the judiciary and I think it’s smart to keep politics out of our courts as well. He supports the convoy I couldn’t imagine that Pierre would keep her under arrest if he was PM

I think that Pierre told us the way it SHOULD be; that politicians have no control over who gets prosecuted. However, he didn't address the Tamara Lich question directly or comment on Trudeau's political interference on the matter.

To all saying he did not answer the He did. Twice. Politicians CANNOT express opinions OR make decisions on legal matters WHEN the question is about an INDIVIDUAL citizen!!

As a clear example - any politician CAN be outraged about gun violence, and express public outrage saying they will do everything to stop it. But no politician should ever try to even remotely influence public opinion or judiciary system on whether (for example) an INDIVIDUAL should have defended himself in the course of a specific firearm attack (just an example).

A politician does not have access to all evidence to form an opinion (during or even AFTER judgment). And due to his significant influence, a politician NEVER comments on actions of specific citizens. Why? to protect our democracy and justice system when it comes to actions of individual Canadians (even if it will make you unpopular).

THAT is integrity. Show me that same type of integrity with Trudeau. That's one aspect on which he voluntary failed so many times for his only and narcissist need to gain political points.

Correct answer but the second question was about his personal opinion and he would not say. I think that is a cop out. That said, I’ll forgive it considering what we have been living through these last 7 years. I think people are sick f non answers though and I would advise Poilievre to not duck the controversial questions. Just speak the truth and speak from the heart.

Considering Trudeau cabinet was interfering with rcmp investigations and procedures, firing Raybold because she wouldn't do what he was telling her. Several ethics violations ncluding criminal acts of gifts. Tamara lich magically ends up in front of a liberal caucus member that was given a position over bail hearings when they couldn't win a seat. Could go on for paragraphs. Having a prime Minister who gets out of the way so the judiciary and law enforcement can do their job independently from the prime ministers office is a drastic change from the Trudeau government.

Not what I expected but he is correct. Politicians must not be allowed to have someone arrested and I guess that means not freed either. Tamara Lich is behind bars because of the likes of gestapo man Ottawa Chief Steve Bell and the prosecutors in Ontario. And biased judges.

An awkward video but Pierre showing his true character again.... he respects the laws of Canada and we won't see any political prisoners, Canada has that separation of politicians and the justice system, and Pierre shows that he completely respects that... if only Justin had that kind of integrity and wisdom. The manchild needs to leave, we need a man of Character to clean up the mess of a Trust Fund kid demanding his way... PP for PM!

He could have been more clear that Tamar didn't break any laws and she should not be in jail but in true political fashion he won't commit one way or the other that she's innocent of all charges. If he's not involved in the case and is not a lawyer then his response was appropriate by staying neutral until the case is resolved. I would have preferred he says what we all know that she's in jail because Justin Castreau is afraid of her and her popularity with in Canada which is far better than his. I don't trust PP 100% since he was part of the Harper motley crew but I do trust him far more than Castreau and the squids he has surrounded himself with. Canada deserves far better than the liar we have in the PM chair now!

There's no issue with his response, politicians aren't allowed to interfere with the justice system. His way of expressing this is "nobody is above the law, not even the most powerful politician". It is so sad to see that many people here reject that.
