That's a Chinese switchblade copy of the Italian design. I have exactly the same knife, actually two of them one brown and one black. It's not the greatest quality in the world. Obviously there is no wrong way to hold this knife, the spring is not working properly here. For the money you can't really expect anything better, a proper stiletto would cost at least 100$ but i will give them one thing, the tip of the blade is damn sharp and this thing will penetrate for sure.

😂 That is NOT "high quality"! That is a Chinese counterfeit of an AKC stiletto. The real ones that are high quality will fire open twice as hard as that no matter what position you hold it in (no need to hold it in any weird orientation like you do)! My $20 Chinese stiletto looks identical to that other than mine doesn't have the fake logo stamped on the blade and opens MUCH stronger!

That's just an AKC knockoff, I have a couple of those. They're a Chinese cheap version.
While the Chinese do put in brass liners to fool you, you just need to look at what counts.
First is the thickness of the locking spring along the back of the handle, the Chinese is thinner and only about 60% as strong as the Italian AKC knives.
Second, look at the end of the action spring, the Chinese put in a very cheap round spring, cost then about 15 cents, and has space for play inside the liners.
Then look at an original Italian AKC's action spring, it's going to be a square piece of quality hardened spring steel, it's going to fill in the space between the liners and is about 50% stronger than the cheap Chinese spring.

Third, just look at the logo stamped onto the Left side of the blade at the base.
Real AKC have the compass, these vary, some say Italy, some say AKC World, most have the "R" in a circle.
The Cheap Chinese knives have a poor quality stamping and a dot under the "A" where the circled "R" is supposed to be.

They are out there just not cheap.
