It's ram pump season 2022. I tested a few cold weather ram pumps and had some issues with pipes freezing and bursting. Also my neighbor removed some pipe while gathering firewood. Now that the temperature is nice its time to get the pump back up and running.

Hi SETH. Just starting to hook my ram pump up at my cabin for the second year. Moved it uphill some from where it was last year. 1/2 a KM from the brook to the cabin. Playing now with trying to get the second valve all the way open. Here's to another summer with water. :)

Nice boots! Glad to see you lifted the pump out of the debris on top of a block, smart! Looking forward to seeing the new water tower video.

Man. Thinkin of buying one of these from you guys. Its all the rest of the build that gets me tho. Trying to get water to tanks above my garden. That looks like a huge build in the woods. All that wood for the trough or whatever all that is. Dont know man. Free water powered pump sounds good but complicated. Thanks for posting

Looking forward to your next video. I hope you built that platform strong enough, each of those totes when full will weigh over 2, 700 lbs.

When you put in the 44 Galen Drum, I've an idea that may help with keeping the silt out of the drum. Basically where you have the elbow currently letting the water out, change that to a T, and have one leg down the bottom of the drum, one leg going out (as it does now) and one leg in the air, to stop it siphoning. This way the overflow water comes from the bottom of the drum and 'should' take the silt with it. Don't know if it works, but cheap and easy enough to try.

Hi Seth, I am Frans, from Namibia, Southern Africa. I enjoy your teaching. My problem. I have a cement reservoir which can hold 243, 000 cubic. Uphill, I have a water trough for cattle. I want to bring water to the trough with a Ram Pump. The pipe line is 2 inch in diameter. The incline is 1 meter and the distance is 1, 5 km What is your advice?

Woah. Growth spurt. Damn dad. I hope you’ve saved up for her college fund already. All kidding aside the lines were surprisingly good after the winter.

Seth! Have you tried a minimum distance for the drive pipe? I’m thinking if 200cm…think that would work?

ok watching a few of your videos.. have to ask. in this episode. you have "fall" from the creek to a silt bucket.. then overflow down the line to the pump. so it seems the "fall" is just in reality from the silt bucket to the input of the ram. that distance only seems like 4 ft rise about 20 ft away..and the output lifts 30 ft. what am i missing? It seems the silt bucket is your new source or head pressure?
