I really appreciate you even showing the downsides of the process. It honestly makes it more realistic for rookie wrappers. Love your stuff pls keep it up

I'm getting ready to wrap for my first time too, and this series offers a lot of valuable lessons that you don't see from the "pro" wrappers, mainly the mistakes that I will be (hopefully not) making. Good stuff. Thanks dude!

I think it's too little horizontal pull. Considering that marks are vertical

I tried to wrap my dash and failed miserably. Just threw out the wrap. Dash is fine at least.

you have to start off with most contour edges first which is by the license plate area and work the way up.

Looks solid for a first attempt! I did an antenna shroud as my first vinyl wrap and it came out far less than ideal but whatever, at the end of the day you did it yourself and that is awesome in and of itself!

Try not to use too much heat. Heat is your friend but at the same time your enemy. The flat part is the easiest part. When laying the vinyl onto the panel. Find your body line first. Then work your way into the
Recessed areas. The wrinkles happened bc you stretch too much that the vinyl lost its form. Try putting a piece of wood or an object behind the trunk so it’s elevated it will make the install a lot easier. When coming to corners let the vinyl fold over the corners and curves of the panel. But hey think about it like this. You attempted it and it’s not bad at all. It’s a scary task to take on by yourself keep working at it and you will be good in no time.

you need a hand to lay glass, glass and squeegee the top of the trunk to active the adhesive just like you did ! then open the trunk have your extra set of hands to hold the trunk open then stretch and glass the vertical portion corner to corner and squeegee it out . I know your more than likely worried about over stretching but you definitely could have used a good stretch down and out to the corners towards the bumper! I am no wrapping pro but i have wrapped my own trunk and hood ( I molded an STI scoop to my JDM legacy B4 hood and had to do it in one piece)

Watch some older videos of "Samson Montoya" he might help you a bit with this wrap thing

If you need more practice the Chevy hood could use a color change! Lol

You know why? You are over stretch the film! Too much pull. Especially with the heat gun! Not a proper technique
