I can imagine a future where while waiting in a hair salon you could look into what looks to be a mirror, but is actually a display and camera. Then you can swipe through different hair styles or draw your own, seeing your live reflection donning the new style!

Says a guy with advanced male pattern baldness...

This is the exact idea that I thought about 3 years ago when I was still in highschool. I though I would work on it someday. It's fascinating yet quite sad at the same time to see this now has become a reality.

Incredible! Even with the progress made so far, if those images could be exported in layers, even just a light touch-up from a digital artist could produce spectacular results so quickly

I imagine a store where you can go and they take various photos of your full body and then they draw clothes on you with something like this. Then a machine (like a cnc) cuts and sews the clothes and there you go. Unique clothing on the fly.

AI can be so flexible! every paper counts.
The lighting in many examples, makes it look fake.
But it must be a very tricky problem when generating hair on the fly like that.

This is such a good use of AI. I could totally picture someone using this to plan out their next hairstyle. Heck, imagine going to a hair salon and the stylist uses a tablet to snap a photo of you and visualize the changes before they make them!

I invented a method to do similar things in krita last year. It usually takes 10~30minutes for simple situations. But if my hack is applied to complex case, the artist has to maintain 100-ish layers only for hair for one person. Not long after that, I progressed a lot in realistic portrait, then I found myself doing what I believe Nvidia has done with their ai at 2015. Then I quit. Now I'm learning DL.
