Please make sure to give Razer some grief for not adding hotswap to their full sized Blackwidow v4 pro models.

These metal ball bearings are conductive, which means that there's a high risk of shorting something in the keyboard when it's powered on. Even just one of these moving around on the PCB is sufficient to destroy the keyboard is you're unlucky enough. NEVER do this, because the risks are way greater than the potential gains. To realize how electrically important this is, imagine that even the glue of the tape that you'll use in a tape mod needs to be non-conductive.

So I gave it a lot of thought...I think I am willing to help take one of your 75% yellow linear switch keyboards to help keep your room clean. I mean...I have to pack away my Steelseries 6GV2 rage proof keyboard but I am happy to help out where i can

I keep saying if you want RGB shinethrough, north facing LEDs are the best.

the double typing issue came from the board because I did replace the switches by some other brand one and they ended double typing after a month of use on the razer.I decided to use the razer switches on other barebone boad and it worked perfectly

Pear. Pear is such an underrated ice cream flavor.

I can confirm that the switches in my V4 75% went bad, but I replaced them with the same switches and haven't had an issue yet.

Razer sucks, they have made some decent hardware, but their support in the past few years has fallen off terribly, it is now, essentially non-existent, and believe me, you will need their support at some point. I say this as one of their, previously, strongest supporters, and possibly the one person responsible for more Turret sales than any other. Stay away from Razer.

When I started gaming on PC, I bought into the Razer hype. I bought a headset, keyboard, and mouse. The keyboard and mouse broke within a year. Ever since I haven't bought Razer products and don't plan on doing so.

After using a Razer keyboard for the better part of 5 years I can honestly say they are a good starting point people who don't know about the world of mechanical keyboards

Everything else aside, I REALLY like the knob being on the side of the keyboard like that. Knobs take up wayyyy too much room under most designs for something you will maybe touch once a week if you already have volume control elsewhere. Granted, the screen kinda defeats those advantages, but if you really want a screen and a knob, this isn't a bad way to do it.

Video idea: 3M makes a sound/vibration damping tape that might be an interesting test for a custom mech

I bought the blackwidow v4 75% first version, i had insane double click issues after 2 months of use on the most used keys like wasd for apex, qwer for league and some other random ones like esc.
Kept swapping the switches with functioning ones across the keyboard and then, after all this time, last month i got Akko V3 Creamy Purple Pro.
Even with minimal RGB housings, there's dim RGB, insanely good tactile feedback but lighter spring, faster travel time, INSANELY good sound on this keyboard AND no more double clicking issues.
Also MANY people keep saying the razer blackwidow v4 75% kept double clicking with razer switches even after activating their warranty and getting 1 to 2 different keyboard replacements. I'm pretty sure Razer still hasn't fixed double clicking issues :/

Bro, as a RTS game player the whole whole point of a razer keyboard like my blackwidow v4 pro is to have customizable LEDS and dedicated macros, where you can see the colors you've chosen for every key color coded by categories. THEN easily switch back to normal colored keys when you're not gaming at the push of a button! why would you choose to cover the leds! other than that nice sounding keyboard you made, but the functionality of the led keys is gone. make one where it is just as nice sounding but has lit keys then you have made a worthy improvement.

There is no way you are criticizing the north facing leds in a see-through legend gamery keyboard. The average consumer does not care about super thick 120$ keycap sets from GMK and the slight interference. South facing leds make the illuminated legends look like garbage.

7:09 Thank God they are north facing LEDs. I freaking hate south facing LEDs. South facing LEDs have uneven lighting. You can literally see south facing LEDs by simply looking at the keyboard, and it's very distracting. They also don't light up the characters well. If you're worried about keycap interference, buy some o-rings or washers.
