Does it look more slate grey like the new mac color or does it look more blue in person ?

I just returned mine after 2 weeks of use and countless cables and connectors trying to make it work.

This unit gets so many rave reviews and no one is talking about over-heating issues. These units get really hot. They work great under normal loads without issue but still get very warm.

I had mine plugged into an M4 MAX 16" and a single 32" 1440p 144Hz monitor. Web browsing, email and normal use without any issues.

Then I play Rocket League at 1440p 144Hz. Get about 140FPS. 10 minutes in at random the screen disconnects. Unit gets hot to the touch. Sometimes it reconnects by itself, and other times I have to set it to 60Hz, wait for it to come back on, then switch back to 144Hz. Then it's an intermittent connection at random times. Again, 2k @ 144Hz which is easily supported according to their specs. If I bypass the dock and plug the external monitor straight into the MacBook Pro I have zero issues.

Was gonna get an exact replacement but went with the sonnet dock instead, cheaper and more features and hopefully won't have the same issues when I receive it.

It would be nice to see a comparison between this Ivanky Thunderbolt 4 dock vs the Acasis 21-port Thunderbolt dock. The price difference is significant and the Acasis seems pretty darned robust in appearance. No doubt we’ll see a swarm of fancy new Thunderbolt 5 docks hitting the market soon but Acasis has been keeping up very well with the big boys, like Ivanky and Caldigit, lMO. I have a couple of Acasis SSD enclosures plus an early USB-C 10-in1 hub + enclosure and they’re all well built and perform flawlessly.

BTW, I’m looking for doc to use with a new M4 Mac mini and the ‘double’ cable that comes with the Ivanky makes mini connectivity seem questionable.

Any idea if you can USBC a Wacom cintiq into this? MacBook Air only has 2 sockets, so if both are being used for the dock I can’t plug my Wacom in direct.

Hi Nick excellent video, i love this dock, but it caught my eye that external drive than you have in your desk, which one is it?

I’ve heard some reviewers say that the 40Gb ports are USB 4 and not thunderbolt.
I have devices that are thunderbolt only and do not work with USB 4. Will they work with this dock?
