There are 3 parts to a computer video, the video track, the audio track and the container. MKV is a container and isn't supported by the PS3. If the audio track and video track are PS3 compatible (and the PS3 accepts h.264) then you only need to change the container (ReMUX). All it does is copy the Video Track and Audio Track into a new container, this is VERY fast and is generally limited by your HDD speed.  However if the video track isn't compatible and needs to be transcoded this will take a LOT longer) So it could take seconds for a 25GB file or it could take hours for a 4GB file.

under the configuration tab, make sure the "always transcode dts" option is selected if you don't have a dts sound system.

thanks man i had 30 gigs of movies my girl wanted to watch on my ps3 i thought converting was going to take me days i converted a 1.35 gigs in 3 minutes :)

dude, it says seconds, but it took him seconds becouse the ratatoulle file was only 45 mb, in more common cases people deal with mkv becouse they have a HD quality movie that in full form mostly exceed at least 1 gb (over 1024 mb FYI).
so it takes a whole lot longer when you actually have to convert one movie.

hi guys.. im a mac user .. i found it for mac myself, but its running like windows, so dont get surprised .. i tested it and it actually works .. beleive me i was skeptical after a couple of failed attempts and waste of time from other software xD
