Andromeda Galaxy Astrophotography from a bortle 2 location north of the Arctic Circle in Swedish Lapland. I got company by Northern Lights but got great data on the M31 as well. During the Andromeda Galaxy Astrophotography session, it was only around -13°-14°C, and after some significantly colder sessions, it felt almost like there was spring in the air.

This is probably the most adventurous astrophoto channel on YouTube! Follow me out to wonderful remote dark locations near the Arctic Circle in Swedish Lapland.

The polar winter is harsh and extremely cold, but the dark skies are among the best globally, and nature is spectacular. But most of all, this is my home, where I do this wonderful hobby!

If you like my videos, please subscribe and join me out in the harsh polar night!

Love your videos! I love how you talk about life around astro from the Arctic. Couldn't be further opposite from me, being in the desert! Fascinating

Your production quality is outstanding. I had to laugh when I think back of your outing with skis in the back country and you got tangled up with a dog sled team. In this episode you travelled by car and not another car to be seen. Your story board for your outings must be extremely detailed. Setting up all your various vantage points and drone shots are impressive. It's much more complex and sophisticated than shooting from a backyard or observatory. I really appreciate the effort you put into your videos. Oh, and by the way, your astro photos are awesome! Thank You.

I agree with all of the comments about production value in this video. Really well done. The drone shots and time lapse were great! The music during your talk about the aurora borealis and vikings gave m goosebumps. LOL! It looks so amazingly beautiful there, but still too cold for my blood. :-D

A fantastic shot of Andromeda and the Swedish country side. The skies there must be just breath taking. You produce astounding videos and I wait patiently for the next one. I would love to be able to get out tonight in the clear moonless night, but, with a -36 C low this evening with a -46 below windchill here in Winnipeg, Canada ( just bordering on the south side of the 50th parallel) I’m going to stay warm instead. Sweden is on the bucket list. Thank you

I look forward to your videos, the scenery is just lovely and your images are amazing. Andromeda was incredible!
I was in Lapland last February, and were lucky enough to see the northern lights, it was only -24. I know what you mean about the silence at night out in the forest, it was a surreal experience, one which I hope to have again soon! Thanks for sharing, great video!

Another great video David! Love your drone footage and the beautiful winter landscape! How long do your drone batteries last in that weather? Beautiful closing shot of Andromeda too!

I asked if you could and you did😊👍 only left is milkyway lol, anyway, I saw a few houses on the way, do people actually live there? It looks beautiful but how you get groceries😱. Now also history and timelapse added as a subject to your channel. Perfect result on M31! You also took flats, darks and bias frames? Or is that in Bortle 1 skies less neccessary? How do you deal with the frost on your equipment? Do you take it in the warm home and leave the case closed for a few hours?

Hello from Winnipeg, MB, Canada. Thank you for sharing your experiences and adventures in the arctic and still being able to take astrophotographs. The production and accompaniment are super. Also you have inspired me to not sit indoors as we are in the middle of a polar vortex, temperatures of -25 to -35C. So I went out 2 nights ago, -27C with -39C with windchill. I didn't venture further than my backyard but wanted to see if I could get setup and aligned etc. I also have an ASIAir pro on a 70mm triplet, EAF, SW HEQ5 mount. I had no issues guiding, images focussed, EAF worked as usual and no mount issues. So thank you for getting me out! I do have a question about your tablet in regard to keeping a charge or shutting off in the cold. I use an iPad and found that if shuts off if left out for any length of time with temp
below -10C or so. Did you keep your tablet warm? What did you use if so. Thanks again. Clear skies
