TBH, i actually like pulling over next to some random field and having a 5/10 minute break

As I am not in the TdF I will always pull over and have a snack. This guarantees no accidents to stop me from riding the next day.

I feel like Manon's superpower is explaining how to do really simple things to idiots like me who really need tutorials on how to walk and breathe at the same time but am too scared to ask

Two stem bags: one for sweet snacks and one for salty snacks. And on cold winter rides I have a thermo mug with hot chocolate in one of them. The jealous looks you get from other people are priceless!

Eating on the bike was never the issue, opening the @$#@% wrappers was. After almost crashing trying to open a bar, I now precut everything.

I allways open the packages (cut the top end straight through) upfront at home so I don’t have to struggle on the go😊

Tired of ruining your jersey pockets with grease stains? Tired of reaching back there to pull it out and all the cheese and toppings sliding off? Don't worry guys, im working on developing a saddle mounted pizza slice holster for the pizza connoisseur on the go. Carbon fiber, light weight, aero, and best of all it will be UCI approved so you can race with it!

For best absorption of bars - water, then eat, then water.
You can pre snip off the end wrappers on bars so you don't struggle to open them.
As you bite - mouth BREATHE OUT. So as not to accidently inhale a crumb.
DO NOT litter. Wrapper goes back in pocker or bag till your next stop with a trash bin.

Still practicing this skill. Learned to avoid caramel bars. Too sticky, messes up anything it gets into: jersey, handlebar, gloves. Yechhh!

My favorite food to eat on a ride are fruits and nuts, especially yellow plums and apricots, they're small and easy to put in a back pocket

Thanks Conor, Manon, and crew . I have never been able to eat while riding, I end up coughing and choking down my food . Gels are the only thing that I could use without stopping !

I used to have power bars when I was new. Now for a 50-100 km ride. 1 banana and sandwich. I always wrap them with food plastic wrap especially banana/s to avoid messing with my jersey. I ride solo and I eat on the fly. Great video as always.

I have since more than 10 years difficulty with eating in my regular life and since I started cycling less than a year ago eating on the bike is a struggle. 2 weeks ago I did a 145 km organized ride and found that Long energy gels and energy blocks besides energy drinks (with minerals and salt) are the best solution for me . But would love to also eat some solid stuff like energy bars on the bike during long rides but for that I have to make a short stop to eat. So long live the long energy gels (with more carbs than the normal ones) and the energy blocks 👍🏽🚴🏽‍♂️😎

This is great for the racer types.
The group rides I go on are way more casual, i.e. we sometimes plan our route around a stop(s) for a rest-break and sometimes a stop at a restaurant-cafe.
😆
For riding on the bicycle I bring a power bar but most of the time it's a snickers (Marathon) or payday bar, my favorite, also energy drink powder in one of my two bottles.
LOL since I'm a casual rider I usually don't wear a jersey I use my sling-fanny-bum bag to hold some snacks.
Having recently done a 76km ride I now know I can go for longer distances and will probably do once the temps drop, its already in the 70's in the early morning (20's for those whom use Celsius) and it going to be 105 today (40°C) 😅
Now if we could work on getting those riders who tend to break down but never bring spares-tools and rely on (hopefully) others to sort them out.😄
