Discretionary vs Non Discretionary - What's the Difference?

Hi everyone, Rob here. A lot is going on, we have massive volatility in the marketplace. I want to help you understand a couple terms.

When you're working with your financial advisor, some advisors work in an area where you sign a discretionary agreement. Other advisors are working in non discretion. What's the difference?

If you signed a discretionary agreement, it means you're empowering your financial advisor to make decisions on your behalf.

An advisor who's working in a non discretionary area needs to call you to make a change, as they're not authorized to make decisions on your behalf.

That leads to the question: Have you been called by your financial advisor?
