When #Acura brought back a Civic based vehicle to the lineup in 2013, the #AcuraILX was supposed to be the modern interpretation of the #Integra from its early years. Based on the 9th-generation Civic from 2012, the #ILX offered 3 different flavors at launch, a hybrid, a 2.0L 5-speed automatic, and a 6-speed manual 2.4L combination. In 2016, Acura removed 2 powertrains leaving only the 2.4L i-VTEC 4-cylinder with 201 HP and a quick shifting 8-speed DCT transmission. For 2019, the #ILXASpec has a new design front & rear, a slightly updated cabin, a significant price reduction, and surprisingly good looks, despite its age. Buyers interested in the #CivicSi but don't want to row your own gears may find plenty to like with this 2019 ILX, at least until a new generation is hopefully introduced, we'd like to also see the return of a #TypeS model.

I bought a 2022 ILX Premium A-spec in January of 2023. Lightly used with 6500 miles. Love the car. Nothing not to like. One of the deciding factors for me was the chuckle that came out of your mouth as you were driving at 18:40 ish on this video. That is a testimonial to the pleasure that this car brings that can't be put in to words. You do good work, and I enjoy the stats and your honest opinions, but that window to your emotion when driving this vehicle was the most swaying part of this video. Keep up the good work!

I love talky engines. Some noise, some great vibrations. I like hear and feeling the engine work

I don't get why anyone would pay $32k for this over an Accord Sport 2.0T for $30k. You could almost get a full spec Accord touring for the ILX price, and the Accord has a way nicer interior, way more power, bigger, and just nicer overall. Acura really needs to up their game.

Have this exact car but a 2020 and it was very hard to find a 2020 white exterior red interior a spec package and it’s beautiful and amazing to drive and completely changes the car in sport mode. I searched for a long time for my first car and this was the best choice ever

Great review. Great point about the comparable sized competitors. You're either jumping up $10-20k for them or you're driving a $20k Corolla or Civic. While the cheaper counter options are well optioned, they're simply not the premium look some desire. It's a tough choice cause the ILX is definitely dated in many aspects but it still carries a premium look.

Thank goodness, they used the 2.4L engine.

Love that this car retains that k24 motor. Would be amazing if that dct had lsd. 6 speed manual with lsd would have been nice option as well

While this car may be so old school... imagine Acura getting their hands on Type R engine, chassis, and suspension for next gen ILX... it could very well be the revival of Integra Type R. Oh hell I don't mind ILX Type R name if it comes with SH-AWD and slightly higher horsepower than Civic Type R, credit to EK9 and DC2 days.
Just do proper revival and upgrade, and ILX has so much potential to compete with big boys in Germany, Lexus IS, and even the new kid on the block, Genesis G70.
Acura seriously needs to bring ILX up to be the newest and scariest kid on the block...

after writing this and finishing the video, I realized that I literally repeated Sofyan...

To everyone saying the interior is dated: Find me another luxury car with a DCT, that’s as quiet as this, that has 200 horsepower from a naturally aspirated large displacement 4 cyl, and that comes standard with leather seats for $27, 000.

Love my 2016 Aspec. I wanted a slightly upscale DCT Civic Si...so this car is perfect for me. The interior is a bit dated as he mentioned, but it is very functional and the black leather with suede inserts looks pretty good imo. I see this car as being for someone like myself who grew up driving Civic Si's and likes the NA engines and reliability. I wouldnt really put this in the same class as the entry level Benz or Audi though.

Keep in mind that an old platform and parts and pieces are proven and reliable, this and a new grill is why I'm and my wife are looking at Acura now.

Ah. That VTEC crossover. Honda/Acura should keep that alive. The 1.5T and 2.0T lack character.

I've owned the same car for 2.5 years now - I can honestly say it feels the same as my 87 BMW M5 that I bought new and drove for 10 years and 75, 000 miles - also exact same exterior dimensions - certainly not as FAST as today's models, but yet it's certainly quik enough for me for Street Driving - yes it does have the Manual Handbrake - also still has a nice CD Player - I turn off most of the elect nannies and drive it in S/Paddlshft Mode most of the time, so I don't miss the Manual that much - Larry
