Why do people feel the need to kill a bunch of strangers? I understand the concept of hurting those that hurt you, but why innocent strangers?

In other countries someone might shoot someone else because they did you wrong personally. And that is an extreme measure. But in the USA, it's different.
The concept of shooting a total stranger or many strangers for no reason, where you've never met them in your entire life is so bizarre to any country, but the US it's so common that people don't even question it and people forget to think how bizarre that is. The more you live here the more you accept crazy for normal.
